We have written about our visit to the Air Force Museum

Our Memories of the Air Force Museum

We went on the 12 seater vans to the massive Air Force Museum.  Chris took us in to the classroom.  We dressed up into air force pilots.  I was ghost. My helmet had glasses and shades.  We made a foam model air force plane that flew properly.  We also had a scavenger hunt to find a plane with a tiki on it, a dog, a plane with folding wings, a plane with skis on it, a blue tractor, a plane with a red carpet, a teddy bear and a bent propeller.  Then we had a look around and went into captured. It was cool because there was a secret exit.  We went back to school for the rest of the day.

The Freeville vans were outside waiting for us.  Half an hour later we were there at the Air Force Museum.  I thought there must be a lot of planes to fit into this building.  When I saw all the planes, “Holy moly”, I said to myself.  The vans tumbled and rumbled on the way back.  The back seat was making a lot of noise because the caging was rattling at the back.

We went to the Air Force Museum.  We went on the school bus.  When we got there we went into groups.  We did this amazing scavenger hunt.

Clutter boom the school van started its engine and all the kids and Toni and Vanessa and Trish jumped into the tidy van and sped down the road to the Air Force Museum.  We went to the entry and Chris came out and said “Hello.”  I felt excited.  We went to Chris’s classroom and we learnt about planes and what people did in planes. We made paper planes and watched a movie and dressed up in our pilot clothes.  One of the planes had skis instead of wheels so it could go to Antarctica.  One of the planes had red carpet on the bit you walk on to get to the plane.  The red carpet was for the Queen to walk up.  I thought it was an outstanding day because we did so much work.  We jumped back in the van and found our seats and put on our seat belts.  The van rumbled back to school.

I heard happy whispering.
I heard people running.
I saw people looking at stuff like the planes.
I felt like something was going to break.
I felt excited because it was so interesting.
I wondered what I would see on the way back to school.  The van was very bumpy.
I wondered whether we would make it back to school.

Vrrroooom!!!!  “Hi guys I’m Chris.”  “Hi  Chris.”  We walked into the enormous museum.  We put all of our cosy jackets in a safe cage.  We walked into a dark dim room and we saw epic helicopters and plane, even a turret!!!  “Owww” I said.  I got a headache.  We walked into a freezing room.  “That’s better” I stated.  We marched upstairs and sprinted to the shiny floor where we met Chris.  “It’s time for a treasure hunt now” he exclaimed.  We found a plane with a red carpet.  “This is the Queens plane,” a tidy pleasant man remarked.  We walked outside where the wind whistled and everybody chatted all the way back to the shady school.

We went in the van.  We’re at the Air Force Museum.  It is a colossal size.  We go in and look up at the planes. Wow!  We go further into the museum.  We see more planes.  One of the planes had a red carpet.  Do you know why the plane had a red carpet?  It is because it was for royal people to walk down.  Another plane had wings that folded in.  One of the planes had skis instead of wheels.  Do you know why it had skis instead of wheels?  It is because it had landed in Antarctica.

We went to the Air Force Museum.  We went on the bus.  As I was walking I saw Chris.  We went to his classroom.  We dressed up. We had a scavenger hunt.

We went to the Air Force Museum.  We put our bags and our jackets in a steel cage.  We sat on the hard floor.  There was a giant yellow plane and fancy plane.  We got to wear costumes.  They were from the Air Force. We had morning tea there.  We had a scavenger hunt.  I found the big yellow plane and the teddy bear in the tiny plane.  There was an enormous plane with red carpet.  There was a plane with a green tiki on the side.  There were some with missiles on them.  Upstairs there were a lot of medals.  They were silver, purple, bronze and gold. They were shiny. There was a place with a short video of this plane flying over the ocean.  We went downstairs and we got this toy plane.  We went in the vans driving back to school and had lunch.

Clip, bang.  Running over bumps. Slamming on the brakes faster than ever. “EEK.”  “Get out of the van, have a run around.”  Here comes the other van, let’s walk to the Air Force Museum.  Aeroplanes hung up in the warm impressive room.  We met Chris there.  He talked about people who died in war.  Chris told us to do a scavenger hunt all around the whole museum.  Two and a half hours. Whew.  Foam aeroplanes cool.  Back to school. “Clip bang!”   The End

Our class is going to the Air Force Museum.  I wondered if there were new and exciting things.  Chris was friendly. He let us on everything.  We did a scavenger hunt.  We got some jet planes.  We got to wear air force helmets.  I wore a white helmet.

We saw the van bouncing along.  We found our seats.  The van screeched.  We had come to a stop.  We saw the solider man, his name was Chris.  We walked in.  We saw fantastic planes everywhere.  Chris said, “Com on kids, let’s go to my classroom.” As we walked up all the stairs we saw lots of cool gear.  Chris said “We will dress up in the uniforms.”  After we had dressed up we had a scavenger hunt.  We saw breath taking planes and outstanding helicopters.  Soon after that we had morning tea.  After we were filled up Chris taught us how to salute.  Later we said our goodbyes saluting each other.  I thought it was an amazing experience because I saw new things like helicopters that flew high, once.

In the Air Force Museum we looked at jet planes and helicopters.  We looked at missiles.  We had morning tea.  We went to Chris to build the planes.   We went on a scavenger hunt.  We saw some battleships and a secret door.  A guy was making a New Zealand flag. We went back to school in the van and we had lunch.

Big Foot by Deakon, Montana and Ryley

There was an humongous tall creature called Big Foot.  He had stupendous feet.  He sat on the policeman’s pink grubby car.  The policeman was keen and mean and hilarious.  Big Foot fell asleep on the policeman’s car.  When he woke up he bounced on the car.  He saw the policeman.  Big Foot strutted away to his pocket sized shadowy cave.  He hid under his bed and blubbered.  The policeman bought another car.

We wrote about our visit to the South City LIbrary to learn more about Matariki

Matariki
We went to the City South Library to learn more about Matariki.  We learnt about Rongoa about the properties that plants have that can heal us.

Yesterday I was the first to wake up. I went into my Mum and Dad’s bedroom.  My Mum said “You need to go at 8 o’clock today.  We went to the library and then the gym.
By Ryley

When we got to the South City Library we had to walk around.  We went to go on the computers. I made manuka.  We learnt about Matariki.  I know some of it. We coloured the plants. It was fantastic.

On Tuesday we went to the South City Library to learn about Matariki.  We went on the computers. It was fun but we had to go back to school for gym.
By Montana

We went in the van.  We went from Freeville School to South City Library.  We went on the computers to colour our plant.  My plant was green, light green and red and yellow.

I was sleeping having an amazing dream, then all of a sudden “Get up”. I woke up in a flash.  Mum said, “Your teacher texted me and said you have to be at school by 8.00am”. I got up, did my chores and went to school.  When I got there I said “How come we have to be at school so early?”  Mrs Bourke said, “We are going to the South City Library.”  Soon after that we were there.  It looked amazing.  It was beautiful but when we were about to go in it was closed.  They said we could go in but would be warmer in the van.  So we stayed in the van.  When Mrs Bourke got there she said we will go for a walk to warm up.  I felt freezing.  When we got back they were just about to open.
We went in. It looked great.  We went into the Learning Center.  Sam taught us about Matariki.  After we learnt about it we made posters.  I chose kowhai.  I had a blast at the library.  On the bumpy ride back to school I wondered if we will ever get back and what we would do when we did.

On Tuesday we went to South City Library to learn about Matariki.  We read a story. We went on the computers.  We coloured in plants.  I did a kowhai.  My colour was dark yellow, yellow, dark green and brown.

On the frosty Tuesday we drove to the City South Library.  All us walked to the dirty van.  When the rattly van stopped at the car park the library doors were locked.  So all of us walked around the block.  When we came back from the block I felt tired but the library was open.

I was having a good dream.  I woke up.  It was 7.00am only one hour until we had to go on Room 4’s trip to South City Library.  I got to school.  I found out that I was going with Trish and my Mum Toni.  Ryan was in the van too.  We learnt about Matariki.  We made picture on plants.  I made one on kowhai.  I made the background blue and purple. I felt happy. Sam printed my kowhai picture in the gigantic printer that was silver and black.  We went back to school in the big van.

Click clack.  What colour shall I make it? Pink or orange, red, purple, green or black?  Now what font shall I do it?  Cowboy’s blood looks cool! “Excuse me how do you make the back ground?”  “You click the magic wand, chose your colours, click the icon that looks like a window. Click a corner and pull.  Press edit and press the bottom icon.”

I was in the middle of a dream. “WAKE UP!” my Mum yelled.  So I dragged my tired self out of my warm cosy bed.  I looked outside. Gurr!!!!! I grunted.  It was ice frost everywhere!!!  I couldn’t decide what to eat for breakfast.  My brother tickled me; he jumped on me so I got back up and got porridge.  My Mum yelled “Let’s go!!!” But I have not had my breakfast yet. “Well bring it to school.”  “OK” I grunted.  I ate it before we got to school. I got out of the warm car into the freezing cold weather.  BBBRRRR. I waited outside until Montana came.  ‘Let’s go” Mrs Bourke said.  I was confused. “Ollie” Trish yelled, “You’re with me.”  So we went in the warm van and drove on the rattly road.  We arrived at the South City Library.  They didn’t let us in.  We walked around the building.  We came at the right time; we walked into the warm library.  We followed Sam down the bright hallway.  We walked into the small room to put our jackets away.  We went into the other room and read a book. We then coloured in a plant on the computer.
