Crew 3's Poems

Our Poetry

We are learning to write different types of poems. This poem is called a Cinquain poem and it has one word on the first line, two words on the second line, three words on the third line, four words on the fourth line and one word on the fifth and last line.

We went outside and looked around our school.  We thought about what we saw and wrote words to match.  We are really proud of our amazing poems.

Puppet Pets

As part of 'Getting to Know Each Other', we made pet sock puppets.  The question: If you could be any pet in the world, what would you be?  We designed our puppets and then made them using lots of cool stuff.  Check us out!

Undie Art

Crew 3 read a story about a frog who lost his undies.  All the other frogs were fighting over them so the jungle animals decided to make all the frogs some undies.  If you could have any undies in the world to show off your personality, what would they be like?

We think our undies are the best!

Our Rocket Recounts

For writing last week we wrote about our science lessons about making rockets.  We concentrated on using recount time connector words: last week, on, then, next, finally.  See how well we did!  Mrs Q will be proud!

Last week we made rockets.  They were awesome.  We got balloons, straws and string and sellotape.  The rockets blew up into the sky.
Shyla

Last Friday we did rockets.  First we wrapped paper around a straw.  The you take the straw out.  Then you stick it together with sellotape or a staple.  Next you use the tape again.  The get three pieces off.  Then you fold them like this ^ and you put it on the straw.  Then blow.
Rosa

Last week on Friday Base34 made rockets.  First get a straw and a piece of paper.  Next get sellotape.  Then cut the tape in to a fin shape.  Finally, we blew our rockets.
Ryan

On Friday Base 34 made rockets for science.  First we got a piece of paper and wrapped it around a straw.  Next we put some sellotape around it.  Then we folded up one end.  Next we did some fins, three or two or maybe one.  Then we blew them off the straw.
Brodie

Last week Base34 made rockets.  After we made them we blew then.  Some went really far and some went not so far.  We used paper, tape and a straw.
Izak

On Friday last week we made rockets.  First we got a straw.  Then we go a balloon and tape.  After we taped the straw to the balloon.  Last we threaded some fishing wire through the straw.  Then we blew the balloon up and let it go.  Then it went for miles!

On Friday we made rockets.  This is how you make it.  First you put some paper on a straw, tape it, take it off.  Next bend the end and tape it.  Then put fins on it.  Put the straw on it.  Finally, blow hard!
