We are learning to make our stories more interesting so you want to keep reading and reading...this is called 'hooking' you in. Do you think you would like to find out what happens next in these stories? If so, we are successful writers!

Scratchy Man

Once upon a time there was a strange man who scratched everything. He scratched stuff because he was angry. He lived in a dungeon with a black bat. Scratchy Man’s face was brown and purple.

The Dark Foggy Island

Once upon a time on a dark foggy island there was a brave girl and her clever dog.  Her dog could talk. Her dog could also change the colours of trees to blue or red or any colour it wanted to.

But one day a dark witch appeared from under the ground,  took the dog as her prisoner and went back underground again.

 The Spooky Classroom
Once upon a time there were two flash kids who went for a walk through a forest. It was foggy on the grass and they could barely see.

The wind whispered through their ears and said, “You’re going the wrong way”, but they thought they were going the right way.

The wind said, “Mmmmm” but they kept walking through the forest and the wind came again and said, “You’re going the wrong way”.

They came across a classroom, a very spooky one.  The door slightly opened, “Creeeeeeaaaaak”.

The Fluffy Bird with Fluffy Eggs
Once upon a time on a sunny morning at morning tea time, a fluffy bird sat in his nest.  He had fluffy hair and fluffy eggs and he liked to dance.

Then a person who smelled like cupcakes disturbed him.

Crew 3's Poems

Our Poetry

We are learning to write different types of poems. This poem is called a Cinquain poem and it has one word on the first line, two words on the second line, three words on the third line, four words on the fourth line and one word on the fifth and last line.

We went outside and looked around our school.  We thought about what we saw and wrote words to match.  We are really proud of our amazing poems.

Puppet Pets

As part of 'Getting to Know Each Other', we made pet sock puppets.  The question: If you could be any pet in the world, what would you be?  We designed our puppets and then made them using lots of cool stuff.  Check us out!

Undie Art

Crew 3 read a story about a frog who lost his undies.  All the other frogs were fighting over them so the jungle animals decided to make all the frogs some undies.  If you could have any undies in the world to show off your personality, what would they be like?

We think our undies are the best!

Our storm writing

Storm
Storm creepy weather
I am scared
I am shocked and worried about the thunder storm.
Is it ever going to stop
I am thinking to myself
Am I the only one awake or is my sister with her eyes wide open or closed as I wake up in the morning
It was still going
When I went to school in the morning
But it was still going after morning tea
It finally stopped
I was wondering how messy it was.
By Abbey

There was a storm last night.  I cannot go to sleep because the storm was loud.  I got out of bed and got my slippers on, and tiptoed to the window and looked out the window.  I went back to my bedroom and got my jacket.  I went to see the storm.  My brother woke up.
By Ella M

In the middle of the night it was damp and drizzle. I was worried and shocked so I got in bed.  I put the covers over my head.  My Dad came into the room.  He hugged me and took me into his room, and, my sister as well. I came to the phone to ring Mum.
By Myia

At the thunderstorm I didn’t hear a thing.  I was asleep like that because of my fantastic dream.  There was candy floss cloud and jelly lightening. The cloud came down and I ate it.  It never ended so I kept on munching it.
By Bradley

Last night it was really windy and wet.  The storm and thunder woke me up. I had to go to the toilet.  My Mum came to turn on the light on the inside for me.  I went back to bed.  I fell asleep.
By Shayla

In the morning there was an enormous storm.  I felt a little worried.  Then I felt calm.  In the classroom it felt damp and drizzly.  There was a lot of thunder.
