This was in "The Press" this morning, Tuesday 19 November. Very exciting.

A Christchurch mother's dream for her son to indulge his passion for designing graphics has come true.
Flynn Woods, 8, spent time at Weta Digital in Wellington after his mum, Dairne Woods, entered the Cadbury Dreams competition.
Woods said she wanted to nurture Flynn's passion for designing graphics, making games and characters, but could not afford to send him on a course that would develop those skills.
"Every time we thought about that in school holidays there would be something else like the car needed repairs," she said.
Not only was Woods' dream chosen, it was also expanded as Cadbury organised a one-on-one animation and graphics course for Flynn where he created his own 3D character at Weta Digital.
"I just burst into tears. I was overwhelmed. Not only were they paying but they were taking it so much further."
Woods and Flynn spent Friday at Weta Digital, where he created a frog/lizard character called Crizzy.
Flynn said it was great fun to see how the animation worked and create his own character with some experts.
He hoped to one day work full- time as an animator.
The Freeville School pupil was looking forward to telling his school friends about the experience.

  1. Great work Flynn! Love your 3-D animation. What software did you use to create your 3-D character? Elizabeth
